What size chest freezer(s)?

I am guessing here but I have been looking and the 7.2 looks like it will fit 4 soda kegs. The ones I looked at had a large shelf not good for much more then keeping some bottles or supplies. You may be able to find one with a smaller shelf.

One thing to consider is how are you going to lager? If you are planning on carboys you may be limited with the smaller freezer. Seems like I read something on using a big freezer and splitting it to serve on one side and age on the other. Some kind of duel controller with a heat source or something. Way too many things read sense then. You may be able to search it up on the net if luck is with you.

And remember when you drag that new freezer home and she complains about the size tell her it is only 14 feet and not the 25 foot one you decided to get at the store.

2 smaller ones gives you more options. That's what I'm looking to do here soon.

Before you head out shopping, Cut a bunch of circles out of cardboard that are the same diameter as a corny keg. When you look at freezers, just deal these out into the bottom of the freezer to see just how many kegs will fit. I wish I had done this when I bought my freezer. Another model only slightly bigger and only $20 more would have given me room for 2 more kegs.

i went to lowes and found a bucket of mortar or something that just happened to be about 9" diameter, which is the size of a ball lock corny. i looked kind of silly filling a freezer with mortar, but as a homebrewer i have little shame. i ended up with a holiday freezer, the second smallest size, i think it was 5.8 cubic feet. i can barely, barely fit in 4 kegs plus my tank on the hump. i have 4 secondary regulators i had to mount on the underside of the lid. i built a new lid out of 2x4s and mdf, which works similarly to a collar although the collar moves with the lid.

i tired other store's freezers, but the holiday had the most conducive dimensions for kegs. others with over 7 cubic feet did not fit 4 kegs. keep that in mind.

If you've got the space for the two freezers that's cool. for me i have the 7.2 that i run the lines from to my bar to dispense, then a fridge in the garage for lagering.

i too wish i had known the size trip when i was shopping. hell, i was just pumped the wife was on board. i couldn't buy that thing fast enough.

Im running a 14 cu and a 22 cu. She said you can have 1 big one so pick up a 22 cu.
