Well, another year at universty is coming to an end, and now comes the time to bring my keggerator home for the summer. The only issue is that my kegs still have beer in them. Can I just unhook the kegs and throw them in the truck for the ride home, or do I need to do something special with them? I know drinking them is one option, but I dont have anything fermenting cause I need to bring the carboy home empty, so it'll be a few weeks till any new brew is ready to drink.
My current plan is to detatch the kegs and throw them in a garbage bag just incase they leak for the ride home, maybe even putting them back in the keg fridge for the ride. But I just don't want to waste two batches (One almost empty and one just over half full). If need be, I'll get my roommates to help me empty them, but I'd really like to have some left to sample with the family.
Thanks for any input you may have,
Sean.
