1. Shut off the water (done)
2. Drain the pressure off the lines (oops, I took a shower)

I would say NO... it is apporved for potable and in concrete water, I don't think it would work for gas as it uses a bunch of copper, and you could pierce it easily. I think you gotta stick with black iron pipe for gas or the yellow flexable SS tubing.

That PEX tubing is some interesting stuff... wish we had that when we were remodeling my parent's place. Interesting.
