It could be a felony to ship through USPS since it's the gov. UPS is a private company and can't arrest you. The laws are so murky on this stuff it isn't even funny.

When I shipped mine, they asked, so I told them the box contained collectable beer bottles. I suppose it also helps that I am in the same office quite often shipping collectable pottery and glassware so they know me pretty well (they think).

Yep, so does Austin Home brew supply. I just had to wait until my friends and I had enough stuff to get a $60 order and the free shipping. Looks like I will be able to make some black beers this winter after all.
