Awesome. Did you use the same recipe, or did you switch it up? Have your recipe fermenting now. Can't wait to give it a taste.

The hop bill was different because it was based on what the brewery had in their inventory. Also, we wanted the beer to be hop forward and lineup with it's Session IPA name so we increased the IBUs to 59 from 42.

Still the same basic principle. A dextrenous grain bill and a high mash temperature to support the high hopping rate.

Very cool, thanks for the reply. Just curious, what's your fermentation schedule usually look like on a beer like this? I pitched a pretty big starter (~275b) for a beer this size and the bulk of the fermentation seemed to be over in a couple two tree days, holding the wort temp at 65-66f. Do you go straight to a serving keg after primary fermentation, or do you let it condition? What's your dry hopping technique? Thanks Tasty.

Hey Tasty

Thanks for the recipe! I'd like to give it a try but I'm currently only doing extract with steeping grains.

How might I convert your recipe to do a 5 gallon batch?

I wouldn't attempt this recipe as an extract beer. It relies on a high mash temp and a volume of specialty malts. It's a classic example of the level of control you get with all grain brewing.

Nothing on the malt side. The hops are completely up to the brewer. I just would mix citrus with melon, earthy, or berry.

I added Tasty's recipe here:
http://www.brewtility.com/ViewRecipe.aspx?RecipeID=1380

I agree with Tasty's comments that the high mash temp and blend of malts is completely suited towards AG, but you can use the "convert to extract" button on the web page and add an additional half cup of maltodextrin powder to produce a beer that starts to approach what Tasty has created here. It will NOT be the same, but it will still be good.
