I'm just about to finish up my first keg of this. I brewed it with exactly the same grain bill, used wlp002. I changed the hop schedule significantly as I did a single hop (all galaxy) and all of it in the last 20 minutes. Did 1 ounce at 20, 1 ounce at 10 and 1 ounce at 5. Calculated IBU's around 40. Dry hopped with 2 ounces of galaxy for 4-5 days.
Freaking awesome. Love the grain bill, love the sessionability (is that a word?). Already have the grains waiting for the next brewday.
I'm thinking this is going to be a mainstay in my kegerator. I think it's an awesome way to experiment with hops also. My next batch is going to replace the galaxy with a mix of citra and cascade. I could see keeping this recipe the same but changing out the type of hops each time for some very different beers.
Great recipe tasty, and In your signature line it says you are brewing up a JBA light? what's that about, can you share that? Janet's Brown is one of my favorite beers, and i'd love a session version of it.
