+1 Ozwald.
I moved to the NC from E.lansing Mich. Hottest friggin summer I had ever experienced!
Mich, had it's hot time but here it moves in and stays, sure it isn't as bad as some places in SC or Tx, but for a winter lovin Yank i hate it! Even the pools are like bathwater.
I brewed a batch of ESB a couple of weekends ago, around 92 to 95 degress. I must have drank gallons of water that night. I think my buddy was actually having heat cramps.

Still hot here. As much of a pia it is to deal with, I couldn't get through the summers here without a pool. Luv to chill in the pool and watch the hops grow. Which, btw, got knocked down by the extreme heat here this summer. Not even half the harvest that I expected and I use soaker hoses. I also did'nt care for the Tumbler 6 pack I tried last fall. Almost had a Macro yeast taste I thought. What do they use, 1056? Maybe it's something else. Looking forward to switching from 1272 to London ale yeast for fall batches after this next Saison.

Next time you're out this way, let me know. I'm near Houghton (MI Tech aka where John Palmer went to college).

If you take what I post here literally, you're retarded. I'm here to fuck around, have a good time, and learn about beer. You mean nothing to me and I mean nothing to you.

Houghton is a really beautiful town from what I recall - it's been a few years since I made it up that way. I pass through twice a year for an annual reunion/kayak trip near Cadillac every August. Unfortunately getting time off to make the trip seems to be getting more difficult by the year so I'm usually on a tight travel schedule. On the way there I pass through your area anywhere between 1 & 3 in the morning so I can make camp by mid-morning. On the way home I usually can find an hour or so to have dinner with another close friend in Marquette. Otherwise I'm pushing through as quick as I can. I've made the 32 hour drive in one shot, but as I've gotten older I find that a pair of 1 hour naps is needed. If you wouldn't mind heading south toward 41 I wouldn't mind a quick meetup or beer swap, but I never have much time to spare & I don't drink since it would either slow me down or get me tired. The reunion itself almost requires a few days of detox afterwards anyhow.

July we had 27 days over 100 degrees. It's August, supposed to be hotter, and I am wearing a jacket. Forecast calls for 48 tonight. I love it, what a relief. :jnj
