What a load of crap

Why do my renters always have to be so brilliant? They unplug the heat tape that is keeping the waterpipe from freezing so they can plug in an electric space heater, then they wonder why their pipe froze. Luckily they caught it early enough I was able to get it thawed before it broke. Of course then they had a list of other petty things to be fixed while I'm there. I swear if I do not get rid of these rental houses I am going to go nuts.

HA! morons.... hopefully you are atleast making some money off of them.
I have contemplated buying a 4 flat or couple of duplexes for rental property... my wife has nixed it so far, but the hope is there.

We do OK on our rentals. Mostly they are long term renters. These people that froze up the pipe just moved in during the fall. I thought I explained the heat tape to them, but I do not remember for sure. That was during harvest and we were pretty busy trying to get everything done. It could be my fault so I should not be too hard on them. Rentals can be real good and they can be real bad. You have to buy your house right and be able to do most of the maintenance. If you live in an area where you have high turnover, they do not care about your house and will not take care of it.
