Apologies if this has been asked before.
But, as a UK homebrewer and owner of "How to Brew" and "Brewing Classic Styles" a lot of the recipes call for Pilsner liquid malt extract ... something we don't have available here in the UK.
Is there a way of getting a similar end result when brewing from the extract recipes from these books, when I can't use that exact ingredient?
I'm thinking of using some Light DME or LME with some steeped Carapils for example? If so, what proportions of steeped grains would anyone recommend for 1kg of DME or LME to get as close to the Pilsner LME that is available?
I appreciate that this will not be comparable to the actual product, I'm looking to get as close as possible with the ingredients that are available here.
Thanks in advance.
