Brewing with Goya Nectars

Thu Oct 27, 2011 5:14 am

Has anyone tried this? They have a TON of different flavors and it seems like it would be an easy way for those who do not live in more favorable weather conditions a chance to brew a mango or papaya beer. Here is a link I found with the ingredients listed: http://www.foodfacts.com/NutritionFacts ... l-oz/44667

Would the acids have a negative effect on the beer if added to secondary? Would it be better in the kettle?

I wouldn't worry about the acid. I would be more concerned about the corn starch creating a haze.
Putting it in the boil would drive off most of the aromatics as would vigorous fermentation in primary. I would add it to secondary.
