Wee Heavy thoughts and the 8-14-11 Show

Wed Aug 17, 2011 6:40 pm

Okay guys, I have this thought rolling around in my head. I've been planning to do a Wee Heavy for a while now. As is, probably gonna brew it on my birthday in December. It's based on Bugeater's/Jamil's recipe.

In any event, on to the topic of this post. I was listening to the Sunday session and J was pouring some HotD Adam From the Wood. I got to wondering...

How do you think a Wee Heavy oaked with hungarian oak cubes, and dosed with cherries would turn out?

Thoughts?

You got me there. I really don't know. I'm sipping on a small glass of the wee heavy right now. I'm not sure the oak or the cherry would come through that much without overdoing it. I think I would just dose half the batch with cherries and oak and bottle up the rest for aging and later comparison. As expensive as this beer is to brew, I wouldn't want to fuck up the whole works.
