Here I Come, Michigan!

Going to be in MI for the next week. In between Grayling and Gaylord. Anything I should be looking out for while there? Any good local spots?

I'm not sure of anything around Grayling, Shorts may be close by. But if you swing by Grand Rapids hit Founders and Hopcat, theres also a new Belgain spot called Vivant, ALL make very good beer.

There is an Jolly Pumpkin/Old Mission brewery near Traverse City that is fantastic. I was there 2 weeks ago and the food and beverages were great. Very nice area too. Definitely worth the drive. Its on the Old Mission Peninsula and its very picturesque out there.

They touted a 'session' IPA on the menu. I chuckled and said to my wife, 'Isn't that another name for an APA?'. It turned out to be a 4.2% beer that was otherwise very IPA like in hop flavor and aroma. It was no wonder it won a gold medal at either WBC or GABF. All the North Peak and Jolly Pumpkin beers were great.
