Several folks in my homebrew club just used Nottingham ale yeast to test it out, with excellent success. And absolutely NO sign of the so-called "tartness" that it brings -- totally fictitious as far as we could tell. It's an excellent yeast that I have used dozens of times. It's cheap and effective. Yes, they have had two recalls in recent history -- not a good thing -- but the other 99% of the time, it's a great yeast. Just as good as US-05 or <insert your favorite yeast here>.
