Conversion Beer

Mon Oct 24, 2005 2:09 pm

Hey guys,

I need a recommendation on a good conversion beer. What I mean by that is a I have an uncle that has alway drank Bud Light, and I want to brew a nice light beer for christmas that he would enjoy.

I was thinking of a traditional Chech Pils, or maybe a CAP. Basically, I want something that isn't BL but isn't a huge leap.

An American Blonde would be good. Red Hook makes a decent one if you want a commerical example.

Cream ales work well also. Some people are just a lost cause tho. :(

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

I like to use a kolsch, use Kolsch yeast at lager temps. Other than that I use a can of light licquid, 3lbs of rice extract and .5 oz of Saaz hops for 60 minutes, boom your done. it's usally the bitterness that turns off the bud light crowd.
