I try to call in once a year when the wife is out of town (Spring Break) and give it my best shot.

If you can remember not winning DOTW, you probably were not drunk enough. I didn't remember the last third of the show or even winning DOTW (or trying to give it to Baloo) until I listened to the podcast later on in the week. Then the memory came back. I do recall I slept very soundly that evening, soon after the show was over. I had significantly more than the 7 bottles pictured above on my winning night. And one can lose count of homebrew when refilling a pint glass from the kegerator.

I am honored that Mrs. Blowmax beat me on my second go around a few months ago - she brought it strong and beat me hands down.

The June 13th show fell on my birthday, I was drinking homebrew maerzen out of the tap since the start of the Germany/Australia soccer game and I had a bomber of St. Bernardus Prior 8 and Allagash Curieux. It seemed like I was all set to finally earn DOTW. Then Mrs. Blowmax called . . . and puked. I hung up the phone and respectfully yielded. It wouldn't have mattered if she'd only had one beer at that point. She was better radio than I'll ever be.
