4th. Ugh.

Let's see... Friday my knee locked up at Wal-Mart when I bent down to retrieve (ready for the irony, folks?) HEALTHY CHOICE meals for my lunches this week. Here it is Tuesday and my knee is at about 50% power.

Then, Saturday, my sweet wife Darla asked me to move an end table for her. I had a hand full of M&M's I was grazing from, but no need to put those down, I thought. So I put one end of it on my knees and picked up the far end of it with my right hand and started shuffling with my feet to get it across the room... She had just polished it, so it started slipping off my knees and I thought, "it is going to crush my feet" so I leaned forward to put it down fast. I lost my balance and somehow my thumb went against the palm of my hand and I went down with my full weight on it. THAT hurt. Still does. Swollen, but not black & blue like I expected.

Yesterday I was at work wondering if I could buy that nice immersion chiller from B3 with the ebay money I'd saved up.... just a few dollars short, better check the pockets. I reached into my pocket and boom, felt a sharp pain between my shoulder blades and INSTANT muscle spasm. It was so bad I had to leave work. I've been in agony for two days now, even though I have some Zanaflex and Ultram from the last time this happened.

This isn't fun at all. If this is a taste of what to expect I don't want it.

I gotta start exercising or something.

Damn - I am going to need a lot more beer than I thought to get through mine then. And I thought my dad was just a hypchondriac!

I have to admit, it takes a lot longer to heal than I remember in the past, but I just associated it to being too busy to worry about healing. I don't water ski much anymore, I prefer being able to walk the next day.

Shit - look at us, it's Justin's birthday and we are bitching about getting old - don't worry J, it will happen to you too (unless you drink enough not to notice) :)
