I brewed it today and threw an oz of Citra in at flameout. My whole house smelled like tropical fruits. We'll see how it turns out.

I dry hopped a 5 gal Torpedo clone with 1/2 oz Magnum, 1/2 oz Crystal and 1oz Citra, and the predominant flavor was lychee. I am not a huge fan of lychee! Next time I'm going to use more Magnum (and/or Amarillo). I'm still thinking about it.

That's what happened to me. Put some aside for about a month or so. I think it'll really be much more drinkable. Mine was!

I did an all Citra American Wheat and dry hopped it with Citra. It was a bit too bitter but amazing in the aroma and flavor. Next time, I'll probably bitter with Cascade next time.

I think the whole high cohumulone bitterness thing is bullshit unless your trying to brew a clean german lager or something of the sort.
"harsh" is very subjective in my opinion. Maybe this isn't the right thread but I would love to see some first hand reviews of some of the maligned bittering hops I.E. citra, chinook, sorachi ace, columbus etc. when used for bittering, and visa versa, what do hops like magnum or horizon etc. contribute as flavor additions?

But citra has a very low cohumulone rating (22-24), which is lower than magnum (24-28):

I haven't heard anybody poo-pooing the use of Citra as a bittering hop, but it seems misguided at least based on the cohumulone numbers. Citra definitely has an extremely pungent aroma out of the bag - I remember it almost burned my sinus smelling it. I was worried about using 2 oz in my APA because of this, but it turned out absolutely fantastic with equal amounts of Amarillo. Basically it was Tasty's APA with equal parts Citra and Amarillo at 10 minutes and later, an ounce of each dry hop. Freaking awesome.
