They can't see your watch list. They only see your bids. I have never had a problem with the watching and sniping thing. Good luck.

Other than Ebay and Craig's List, are there any other places I can look to buy this generator? I'm looking for the Honda EU2000i. A thousand bucks is way too much to pay at the dealership.

yes the people that have the item can only see how many are watching they can't see who....

i've was trying awhile back to get some doc marten boots on there that are rare and can't get them in so i found them on ebay....took me a year to find them on here cuz no one had them yet....and took me 3 yrs to finally get a pair home.....i remember bidding several times and even being where when the auction was going to end in like 10 mins....and i would get OUT BIDDED at the last second...well u know how those ebayers are....the peope who have ur items can have a friend or make another account to bid up the item so they can have some more money....greedy sob's

anyways u have to learn the hardway sometimes....
and btw my boots i bidded on 3 yrs ago were over 150 bucks to buy on ebay
i got them a year ago (FINALLY) for 30 bucks....a lady had a pair she wore ONCE and didn't realize they were doc martens....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA......dont know how she didn't know....but oh well her mistake not mine.......
so i think i did really well just by waiting my time and being patient....same way with a purse i bought not too long ago.....a lady came in the bar we play poker at and it was a see through purse/clear and it had her initial on it and had the cell phone carrier on the side with the initial on it as well....after that day i searched through everywhere on ebay and outside of ebay to find that purse....well i found it just not my initial....well 2 months later i found it....never used....bought it for a buck....cost me 9.00 including shipping...the lady that had it got it as a gift and didn't want it....WOO HOO FOR ME!!!!!!!!!

so sometimes if u just wait ur time (if u can) you can get better deals....thats how i always did it

The biggest thing about eBay for new users, in my opinion, is not becoming an addict after that first buy!

I don't have the time or the patience to snipe. So I just figure the most that I will pay, put that bid in and let fate take over. i do this all the time with cornies. I know where I can get them and how much, if I can get them cheaper on ebay I will try but I don't snipe. too much work IMHO. doing it this way you typically won't win everytime but you will eventually and you won't get drawn into a bidding war and overpay. It is pretty amazing, I have sold stuff on there and the bidding goes through the roof at the end and idiots have paid more for the used item I am selling than I paid for it brand new.
