Yeah, he was wearing a Moonlight shirt with a name tag that said Gottfried(?) I think. At the Winter Brews Fest he was wearing one that said Jean Pierre.

I find it pretty hilarious that people actually got angry listening to him and agree with what the Jipper said. I talked with him about beer in general and some stuff on the show after the Winter Brews thing and he's quite the character. He also said he was so hammered on the Session that he doesn't remember much he actually said but was glad to hear someone got something out of it.

That makes sense. I remember a guy with a German accent pouring for Moonlight last year that asked people what kind of hops they thought were in one of his beers. After we tried to guess he said, "Zere are no hops in zis beer!"

JP, I can't tell if you are being sarcastic and just playing off of Brians Saison statement, or just being your normal douche bag self. If it's the later of the 2 try the following commercial bourbon barrel aged beers. You might find one you like in this group. And if not Suck It! Actually Suck It anyway!!!

Lost Abbey Cuvee de Tomme
Firestone Walker 13 (obviously a blend, but over 80% comes from buorbon barrel aged beer)
Goose Island Bourbon County Stout

Tried them all. Meh ...

JP I'm with you, Brian was awesome, wierd, drunk and entertaining all at the same time. So what if you make a beer that dosent line up with the BJPC, if you and your friends love it its good. I'm kind of with him on the dont call it what it aint thing, I've had a beer here in Melbourne that is called an ESB but tastes more like US Pale, and there is another brewery (who Brian may declare war on) that has admitted to using a larger yeast in their Saison (apparently for consistency???). This Saison tastes like shit too.

Best thing I like about Brian was he didnt take himself too seriously, and in the process sucked in some simple folk to going "oh no thats not right he cant say that". When did the session become the enclyopedia britanica? factually it would strugle to be wikkipedia on a good day, but thats what makes it what it is.

Cheers to you Brian, and JP. To those of you who dont get it, suck it

Cheers DK

Sorry to hear that JP! I really enjoyed those beers, but that's what makes tasting different beers so awesome, there's no two pallets exactly alike. Have you had any wood aged beers that you like?
Enjoy Great Beer!
