It'd be awesome if this came out a deep blood red

14 lbs. Briess 2-Row Brewer's Malt
1 lbs. Crisp Chocolate Malt
12 oz. Roasted Barley
9 oz. Crisp Black Malt
7 oz. Briess 2 Row Caramel 120
22 oz. Oats, Flaked
1 lbs. Lactose
SAFALE-04

.5 oz. Nugget boiled 60 min.
.5 oz. Mt. Hood boiled 30 min.
.5 oz. Mt. Hood boiled 2 min.
8oz. unsweetened Ghirardelli cocoa powder
12 lbs. frozen strawberries....

It spent one week in the primary
planning on 3 weeks in the secondary
and 3 weeks under CO2 in my corny

Let us know how it comes out. I am interested in trying a strawberry beer. I have heard it can be difficult to get that strawberry flavor to come though.

I wanted a big strawberry flavor, hence the 12lbs and 3 weeks in the secondary. (If you're going to buy fruit, go to Costco. $8 for a 6lb bag. My local Smith's was like $10 for 3lb...)

I'm just worried about having not enough chocolate now...

with 8oz, it should come through nicely.

looks and sounds awesome. I'd bet that all that acidity from the Strawberries gives it a nice twang.
Be sure to bring some by the next time you're up in CO (sorry, couldn't get away for your birthday at O'dells).

I love chocolate, strawberries, and beer...it seemed like a logical next step.

The label is going to be a chocolate-dipped strawberry grenade :bnarmy:
