Where do you get your Simcoe leaf?

Fri Oct 30, 2009 4:06 pm

Tried the usual suspects, and I can get ounces from various sources, but I don't find Simcoe leaf by the pound anywhere.

Suggestions?

TIA,
Charlie

The second place I tried. $1.75/oz $28.00/lb. I was hoping to do a little bit better on the price.

Also tried Niko (pellets), hopstoyou (nada) and North Country Malt Group (no leaf and pellets are out of stock).

Hops Direct is very reasonable and sells by the lb (just put in an order), but I've never seen Simcoe there.

I ordered a pound (16 X 1 oz!) from Freshops. $28.00 plus $8.10 to ship a 1.3 pound package by Priority Mail. I guess if you want 'em you pay their prices.

Every other place had pellets only, and those were 2008 crop. Several places that listed Simcoe were out of stock. That was the deciding factor in the Freshops purchase.

What's with Simcoe anyway?

Maybe I was a little hard on Freshops. To their credit the order was shipped the same day I placed it, and arrived today. The shipping cost ($8.10) was exactly the postage on the package too.

Freshops was also prompt when I ordered rhizomes from them last spring.
