Brewing Network Fantasy Football League!

Mon Aug 07, 2006 3:29 pm

If anyone is interested, I set up a BN fantasy football league at Fox Sports. The league is free, though if anyone is interested in seting up some beer related wagers/prizes, I'd be willing to jump in on that (e.g. losers send a homebrew or good local craft brew to the winner(s)). To join the league, go to: http://msn.foxsports.com/fantasy/football

Here's the League information you need to set up a team in the BN League:

League Name: Brewing Network Homebrewers
League Password: 888401beer
League ID: 51759

Currently, I have set up for an "autodraft" but if there is enough interest in a live draft, I thought we might be able to do one starting about the time of the 1069 show, and I would think that we could finish by around the end of the Sunday Show at the latest.

Cheers to Beer & Football

Fantasy sports are blocked at work but I will sign up when I get home.

In a baseabll league I am in (10 team league) 7-10 place send the 1st place team 6 beers each (so 1st place gets 24 beers) and 3-6 send the 2nd place team 3 beers each (so 2nd gets a 12 pack). We can change the number of beers but this could be an option if everyone is interested.

Sounds good. I'm gonna see about dropping Justin an email (if he doesn't see this and respond prior) and call into the show to encourage any other listeners (and the brewcasters as well, of course) who may not have seen this in the forum or just catch the show on podcast to get them in as well. I just think it would be a blast to get a bunch of BN guys (and cool girls) in to this to talk (more) smack to one another in good fun.

Cheers!

I'm not worried. I'm confident that we'll fill the league. By the way, we are currently sitting at 3 teams with room for a total of 20. If we pick up a few more teams by Sunday, we'll be in good shape to fill the rest by the end of next week. The quicker we get everyone in the quicker we are able to finalize the "wagers" for the season.

I was thinking making weeks 5 & 10 the "Beer Weeks" where for each matchup the loser would send the winner a couple good homebrews or craft brews.

I also thought for the "grand prize" we would have everyone who doesn't win the season playoffs send the league champ a beer or two. If the league fills, that could amount to a rather hefty beer prize for the winner.

If one or both of these "wagers" is palatable to those already in or anyone interested, let me know. We'll finalize the rules for the "wagers" by the Sunday Show.

Cheers!
