there is enough nicotine in a cigar to kill an elephant.

I took a bong hit of cigarette tabacco once on a bet...I learned my lesson about fucking with nicotine

seriously, there is enough nicotine ina cigar to kill several healthy adult humans.

unless it is the "cousin" of tobacco....then go ahead with 3 pounds. :aaron

Saco is exactly right. Damn! My father in law had to go to the hospital a few years ago during his tobacco harvest because he got too much skin contact on the leaves. He survived, but that shit will kill you. He has been farming all his life and just got a bit careless and landed his ass in the ER. DO NOT DO IT!

What I would try would be to either cut apart a used cedar cigar box (which isn't really cedar, but a wood related to mahogany), or just get that wood itself and use it like oak cubes.

Are you fuckin' serious? This sounds like a horribly dangerous idea. You could potentially extract way more nicotine than you may think. Heart attack anyone? I'm not joking - you could really create a potentially lethal concoction.

There have been incidents over the years where people have attempted to make their own tobacco extracts that were simple tinctures of tobacco leaves and alcohol. They had no idea that the levels of extracted nicotine were enough to cause a heart attack within minutes. They found out the hard way. The average LD50 for most humans is around 50mg. In addition, your liver will be doing double duty, since it metabolizes alcohol and most systematic nicotine.

You want booze and a smoke? Do it the old fashioned way and have a good Cuban with a nice glass of rum. Don't fuck around.

Just one more tidbit of trivia on using a cigar for this "dry hopping" is that properly prepared cigar tobacco leaves are aged before rolling. Part of this aging process (which can take years) is some amount of fermentation of the leaves. Who knows what organism this is or what these critters would do in your beer. Even if the nicotine wasn't an issue, I would be afraid of this.

Wow I had no idea there was that much nicotine in a cigar! So then why is it that when you smoke a cigar you're not ingesting all that nicotine? At least I assume you aren't ingesting it because you aren't dying! Otherwise, what happens to it that makes it alright?
Too much of a good thing....is a very good thing!
