Summit hops

I stopped by Russian River brewery on the way back from the Cloverdale beer festival yesterday, and tried their 100% Summit brew. The hop profile of Summit is interesting, it reminded me of Columbus: pungent, spicy (a slight bit garlic-y). Obviously also lots of citrusy notes, but not too much Grapefruit/Mango/Orange - I wouldn't compare it to Amarillo or Simcoe. It would be nice to start brewing with it in place of Columbus & see how it works out.. Anyways, I'm looking forward to trying the other 100% Summit offerings at Drake's next month to see how they compare. Cheers,

Never used Summit hops, but it sounds interesting. I'll have to check them out next time I'm doing a brew that I could substitute those in on.

Just brewed an all summit apa using .5oz at 30, .5oz at 20, .5oz at 10, .5 oz at 5 for a 60min boil. We'll see how it turns out in about 2 weeks. I had to try them out. Damn near 18% aau and low co-humulone. Should be awesome. I'll let all know how it ends up.
Prost,
