Wow, Bub.... I'm... surprised.

Thank you for sharing this. I was born in Germany and my (Bavarian) mother made spätzle with nothing other than flour and eggs.

She made a sticky batter out of them, plopped it onto a small cutting board and then, using a wetted knife, sliced "noodles" off into boiling water.

do it flour and eggs then... just beat the eggs till ready and add flour till right consistancy.
I actually have a spazle maker that I put the glop into and turn the crank and get all the spatzle I want. Nice

Mmmm, I love me some german food. I've never been to germany, and I'm not german, but my wife and her family are! I have a kick ass recipe for rouladen, even the mother in law approves, and she grew up in germany!

I never had Spatzle with Nutmeg either.

But an even better treat is Kaesespaetzle (Spaetzle with cheese). Just put the spaetzle in a baking dish and top with cheese. Bake until cheese melts and serve with fried onions.

Kaiserspaetztle does sound good. Or Kaiserschmarrn, this is another tasty southern Germany dish.

While at the food subject here. I love Leberkaes. The recipes that I found looked so simple, but when I tried to make it at home it didn't come out right at all and I had to throw it out. Have you ever tried to make that?
