That $30 filter from Home Depot will make your beer taste a lot better.

Hopefully this link should help to answer the questions on this ever expanding subject!

Not sure about home type filters, but commercial breweries (or at least the one I work for) just use a 2 stage Sand then Activated Carbon filtration system, with UV sterlization for Micro orgs. According to their blurb, thats enough to make it "Cear, colourless, wholesome ... Free from Taint and Free from Odour"

Now these guys might not make a lot of beer that I think tastes particularly great, but they sure as shit know how to brew absolutely faultless beer with 100% consistency. If the AC filtration leaves any chlorine in the water, well, its in amounts that some of the best (technically) brewers in the world think is irrelevant.

Me, well I just boil it all the night before and let it sit out. Any chlorine thats left over after that has serious competition for off flavours with those generated by my lack of skill :D A filter is on my list of shit to get, but it aint at the top.

You got some shitty water if you have to advertise that it is free of "taint"!
3. taint - the perineum - the area betwwen the genitals and anus, male or female, although the term is said to orginate from the saying "It ain't pussy and t'aint ass..."

Well, believe it or not I agree with you! Consistency is truely something to brag about especialy if it were a homebrewer. Even though I've been doing this hobby for around fifteen years I still feel theres plenty to learn.

The only Taint taint that might get into out beer, is when we get drunk and go skinny dipping in the vats

Mmmm, taint. Seems to me I tasted that in Justin's beer.
I hope my post helped in some way. If not, please feel free to contact me.

I thought that you had to be a wild eyed southern boy to know what a taint is! I am very impressed that the californians and Aussies know that "it ain't pussy, and t'aint ass". :D

I've been a wild eyed southen boy for many years and realize that eventhough those afore mentioned items can be and always have been very nice I wouldn't search for chloramine free water in either of those locations. But just in case, I'll keep searchin! 8)
