I wouldn't use another spigot bucket if you paid me to. I ruined one batch by contamination, and another from leakage. I use a regular bucket for fermenting & glass carboys for secondarys.

I have to agree with that leakage thing. The first time I decided to ferment in a bucket because of the weight issue, the spigot leaked all over the place. I plan on trying a plain bucket one of these days.

I agree with ya, TF! No surprise, huh? :D I don't think the sigoted buckets offer enough advantages to be worth the hassles.

Save the spigot one for bottling. They work fine for that.

My first bucket is running on 6 years old. Scratches and all it still makes fine beer. I just brewed a Rauchbier yesterday and it's fermenting away nicely.
