almost done with my grain mill, now with hopper

Wed Jul 16, 2008 6:40 pm

UPDATE:
here are a couple shots with the hopper. i still need to hack off the tops of the uprights and then clean up the wiring. i had this vision with the canvas hopper but it proved to be a bitch getting it right. i imagine someday i will replace it with sheet metal.

Im almost done building my grain mill. All I have left to finish is to build the hopper. This is my first welding project and I am pleased how it is turning out. The only other welding practice I have had is my crazy lookin sculpture pictured below. My next project will be my 10 gallon all grain sculpture.

just wanted to share...

Very sweet. Oh wait. Sorry. I hate you and your welded motor/mill mount. I'll get the hang of this soon enough.

You should also post the specs on the motor. I think others would be interested in that. I would actually, even though I already have a motorized grain mill. It's always interesting to compare and contrast.

FYI, I think I spent about $50 for a gear motor on eBay. Details here:

That's awesome! Talk about a $500 mill though.

I would love to make fun of you and your most awesome mill. However I must simply say that now I must hate you for the skills! Really great looking mill. Is the motor speed adjustable? Or is it just flat out?

Prost!
