Thinking about brewing them this weekend-- any testimonials? I'm sure they are damn good, they were created by the Pope of Brewing.

I've brewed BOTH recipes. They both ROCK out LOUD!! I brewed the CHP as X-Mas gifts last year, and have had multiple requests for more. The Blonde is one of my house standards, and next on my brew list.

So sweet, if you've had Rogue's Hazelnut Brown Nectar-- how does the CHP compare?

Totally different beers. The Hazelnut Brown is based on a Brown ale (and can be a bit overdone), when done with a light hand on the Hazelnut extract, the CHP is a Porter first, spice beer second (as I think it should be). Really the CHP is worth brewing, again, just be a bit careful with the extract. Add it until you can just begin to taste it then back off. All flavored beers shoud be beers first, and flavored beers second.

Sounds good-- my pale chocolate malt won't be in on time anyways-- so CHP it is! What's all this talk about Moose Drool?
