fast yeast

i used dry yeast on a red ale this past sunday & saw activity quick. but by the time i came home from work monday the bubbles stoped.....is that normal?

I haven't used dry yeast since my first couple of "learn the process" batches made from a kit. But, that seems like a short fermentation. I typically use the Wyeast smack-packs, and it takes a few hours to get started, and then is very active for a few (2-3) days, with minor activity for several more days.

No, I have seen dry yeast take off fast and finish fast. Take a SG reading before you think of doing anything. You may already be done

i pitched again & i think you were right, no activity for 2 days now. i think it was just a quick ferm

Always check your OG and FG to figure out whether the yeast has done its job. The bubbles are not an accurate way to figure out whether they are done.
