New gas cylinder question

Mon Apr 21, 2008 7:35 pm

I had a great craigslist score today and got a 5# gas cylinder with a regulator (as well as a 10 gal kettle, 7 gal kettle and bottle capper for $40 total!).

The tank had gas in it, but the guy wasn't sure if it was part of the homebrew stuff in the garage or the paintball stuff. Is it CO2 if it was for paintball? Should I just vent the cylinder and refill it since it is cheap? Is there anything different about the tank if it was for paintball?

I just wanted to make sure before using it.

It is CO2 if it is paintball or beer, but if it is a painball cylinder you will need an adapter http://morebeer.com/view_product/7650/

Cool thanks. It seems to be the regular tank, looks similar to my current tank (already has a hose barb fitting on the regulator). I just wanted to check that it was safe to use.

CO2 is CO2... now that being said if the tank was meant to FILL other CO2 tanks it would be best to trade it in, as the filling tanks dispense LIQUID CO2 which will fuck up a lot of things.
