What do you brew on?

What does everyone brew on? Single, double, triple tier?
Throw out your likes and dislikes.
propane, natty gas, elect?
extras, bonuses, pumps, etc?

Right now Im working on my redneck rigged double tier setup. Pump up hot liqour to the MT on second tier, grav feed to BK, then whirlpool and run through CFC chiller into the ferm vessel.
Both HLT and BK fire from turkey fryer burners off a single tank.

how 'bout y'all?

What's a tier? Is that like when you set something up on the tailgate?

I wish I had a roof so I didn't have to fool with the tarp when it rains. Maybe someday I'll upgrade to a block and tackle hung from the palm tree so I can drain my HLT easier...

Current set-up is heat water on a turkey burner, hand fill mash tun, gravity to boiling pot and gravity to fermenter. Propane. Immersion chiller with sump pump/trash can for chilling (unless the basement has water, then the pump is down there) and use a dry wall mixer on a drill for stirring the wort when cooling. The pump and drill are the most technical parts of my set-up (the drill also runs the grinder.) Nothing fancy but works.

I am slowly saving up for a B3-1550 but still a year or two away.

Three tier, right now. Simple - but a pain in the ass. When I move - I'm going to build a brutus. Ladders suck.

Mine is about the most ghetto system around. The HLT is in the bathtub with an electric heatstick.
Image

The mashtun sits on the bathroom sink. I ladle the water into the mashtun with a measuring pitcher.

I carry the wort out to the front porch for the boil.

When time to cool, the boil pot goes back to the bathtub and sits on the milk crates formerly occupied by the HLT.

Pretty ugly and a pain in the butt, but it makes good beer.

hey badrock, I have seen pics of your setup in the past and was wondering what the kegs are sitting on. Also, did you build it yourself?
