Favorite Baseball Beers

Thu Feb 21, 2008 11:06 am

Well baseball season is approaching and it's time to start brewing my baseball session beers. Great refreshing summer beers that I can drink one after the other all day long.

So I thought I'd ask the question. What's your favorite summer reicpe?

My favorite baseball beer is Harpoon IPA served in a plastic cup at Fenway Park. Not a little of that enjoyment came from being suprised that they had anything other than BMC for sale. I think it cost $2 extra and was worth every penny.

My favorite general purpose hot weather drinking beers are Berliner Weisse, Bavarian Weizen, and American Golden Strong Ale aka Imperial Koelsch.
What's on tap: Cream Ale, Imperial Blonde
Secondary: British Amber,
Primary: APA

Primary - Chocolate Stout 1.5

Bottles - Pirate's Gold Ale, Northwestern Honey Amber Ale

If I'm at Minute Maid Park, I'm drinking Saint Arnold Amber Ale. At home... maybe a kolsch. Something nice and refreshing in the summer...

Something like that, yes. I think it was $6 for NAIL and $8 for Harpoon, Sam Adams, maybe Shipyard.

I did a summer white wheat last summer that blew people away. I think I actually cried when I kicked it finally. Ive been thinkin about brewing it again soon so its ready for opening day. The recipe was actually an accident, it was supposed to be a clone recipe for bluemoon i got off some other forum. brewed it, with a couple small variations, and what a beer.

Here's to America's pastime-Baseball!
