I gotta say, if I were a cop rolling up on a bunch of punk teenagers who might be up to no good... I'd probably assert force too.

But that's just me...

I was thinking that too, Thirsty. This cop had kids with boards swirling around him. It's one thing to be able to see the whole picture (or at least the whole picture after someone has been cuffed) in the cold light of day. But in the heat of the moment, I am sure the officer was concerned he might get attacked and reacted.

Kill all those little punks. I wish they'd stay off my grass. Next time their ball comes in my yard I'm going to keep it. They keep playing their radio's too loud.

Come on people. I can tell some of you never did anything illegal like playing in public. We don't know everything that went on in a 4 minute clip but it seemed a little over the top. I mean it's not a brutal beating but just ask yourself this. If you were doing something you love and a cop started fucking with you and you told him to fuck off. Does he have the right to choke you or slam you down?

If I were doing something I love that was illegal and then told him to fuck off, then yeah, I'd expect it. I'd expect you to kick my butt if I told you to fuck off, dressel. Not that I would tell you that. :) I have found that expecting someone to kick my ass helps me keep a civil tongue in my mouth, sir.

I guess one point I had was words shouldn't lead to physical violence. Especially if your job is to uphold the law and peace. I am definitely not saying these kids were saints in any way but...well...damn I just lost my train of thought. Oh well. Guess it wasn't that important anyway. You know I heard something a while ago that I thought was funny. Arguing on the internet is like competing in the special Olympics.

I don't know... just to be safe I have a general rule when dealing with cops... I stick with "Yes, sir/ma'am."

Again... that's just me.

I'm with you on that. When I'm in my office and I get my kidneys rattled by some punks car stereo it pisses me off. Someday, I'll show 'em how loud a 12ga is. On second thought, they'll never be able to hear it. just all of a sudden the noise will stop, and they'll have some new holes in their trunk.

Yes. Especially if I'm violating the law. I deal some less that successful people in my rental business and most of them have a story that begins "I wasn't doin' nothin' and this cop starts hassling me". Those stories never end well. Funny, in my jewelry business I never hear those stories.
