Here is the link to a file on the Ranco site that shows the wiring and troubleshooting instructions. http://www.rancoetc.com/pdf/ranco_etc_instructions.pdf

This should help.

Thanks Bugeater. I appreciate the assist.

The PDF is a duplicate of the wiring diagram that came with the unit and it doesn't contain troubleshooting info; it assumes that the unit powers up. I have searched the Ranco site with no success in locating real troubleshooting info.

From the best I can tell, I wired it according to the diagram; I'd send pics, but the link in my previous post is exactly what I did and what is shown in the Ranco diagrams.

Any ideas?

Do you have a (VOM) volt meter? It is possible that you have a floating neutral or many other rarities. Are you sure that you have the correct polarity? Just guessing but I'd start checking into the less obvious.

MAKE SURE IT IS A 110v RANCO
They also make 48v powered units, you could fry that bitch.

No fried circuit board smells...that's good, right? It's a ETC 1111000, so it's a 110/240v controller.

Note I have not looked up the particulars... but they are ALL 110/240v controllers, it is what power it uses for itself that is the question.
It may not be the problem in your case but just for others out there check it first!

It's been over a year since this was posted and am I still the first one to find this funny?

This other stuff in here is helpful - Forum Archive search rocks.
