Did a dry run of the new setup

Sat Feb 02, 2008 6:23 pm

Well got everything hooked up and ran some water and PBW thru everything. The big burners are rather frightening. I filled up the BK almost to the top and was able to bring it to a boil from about 65deg in 30 minutes. The ball valves give me plenty of adjustability. I have a few upgrades I want to do, but nothing I can't live without.

I lost a carboy, I wasn't paying attention and pumped boiling water from my BK into it and cracked the bottom. One nice surprise was cooling. I have kind of a small IC but since the ground water temp is really low I was able to cool 5 gallons from boil temp to 65 deg in like 20 minutes.

Now for the pics.

You can see where I was melting the hose in the one pic. I need to put in some heat shields.

Yeah, looks like your water filter may need some shielding as well. Looks great though!

That looks sharp pal. I like the layout of the frame. Low and wide. Very nice please keep the pictures coming.

We are having a club brewday on the 9th and I am the AG demo. Should be able to get plenty of pics, and may get some video as well. I am pretty stoked about the potential of this setup.
