002 works great in just about all British ales.
Don't forget you can bitter with Target/Challenger/Bullion/Willamette/Fuggles/Northern Brewer too. It doesn't HAVE to be EKG. All of those hops will provide a nice English hop flavor/aroma/bitterness profile.
I'd also like to point out a thread we did over at the RealBeer.com forum. 'Otis' suggested we 'group formulate' a recipe, provide several variations such as AG, Partial Mash, LME/DME etc. We even got Austin Home Brew to package up kits so that you could buy all the ingredients in 1 swoop. Then we brewed it, and like the Secret Santa here, we did a bottle exchange.
I really liked the end result. It had plenty of malt backbone to balance the hops. We did it using WLP005, but WLP002 will work just as well.
