My first of the year will be an ESB. Another formulated recipe frankensteined from about 10 or 12 different recipes and grain bills. Ive had a few of my buddies ask for an ESB, so time to make them happy.

I'm brewing Jamil's Old Ale, but instead of treacle, I'm using ribbon cane syrup from Louisiana. I'm also going to oak it until March.
I think I've had about enough beer tonight...Now I need some Whiskey to sober up

well i was planning on brewing tomorrow, but seeing as how we're getting dumped on with snow, and my barley crusher isnt here yet, I think im gonna take my sled out for a good long ride. I did roast up some grains for substituting for aromatic tonight though.

If I remember correctly from an earlier Vinnie appreance on the Sunday session he recommends doubling the base malt and increasing the hops by 20%. Am I remembering this right? Then you can have your first Imperial Irish Red or Imperial "Mild!"

That would be dangerous in my house. My wife likes the Belgiums the most. Imagine an Imperial Belgium Golden Strong or an Imperial Tripple.

An Imperial Trippel would be a Sextuple, wouldn't it?

And even better ... I said "sex." This may have to be the next Rat Pad annual brew, huh? I was planning on doing a "Sans Culottes" biere de garde clone (readers of French will get the joke) in honor of the next anniversary but a Sextuple is definetly more appropriate!
