BTW, Crut... As far as the switch is concerned, you only have to break the black (hot) wire with your switch. The white and the ground get connected straight through.

Nice job with the pump. Make sure that you point the outlet up (with the pump horizontal) or it's a bitch to keep the bubbles out. Also if you use a valve, it helps to have it on the outlet side. Like other things in life, its better to let it build up pressure than to have it suck hard.

TMB, Ill remember the outlet up, I had a valve on the output, but its started leaking so i took it off. Ill have to get a good ball valve for it instead of the cheap PVC one I had on it. You guys are great.

I think with all the problems your having you should send me the pump and I will send you a pail, the pail requires no wiring, and is pretty lenient on orientation. Let me know, I can drop you a PM!?

Just wanted to thank everyone for replying to this, and the priming thread. I have had problems keeping my pump going for the last several brews. It just didn't ever seem to work all the air bubbles out and would lose suction after 30 seconds. Ant then it would take a dozen attempts to get it primed again. It's been so frustrating that I considered going back to the old method of kettle in a tub of ice since it took less time than my plate chiller due to lack of pump stability. My homebrew club guys didn't know what I was doing wrong either.

After reading Bugeater's and TMB's posts regarding the pump orienttion, a little bell went off. Since I have my pump and chiller mounted I simply turned the whole assembly 90 degrees and, voila! Now the pump works beautifully and I chilled 10 gallons down to 65f in about 15 minutes.

I have yet to get back to my rig to fix it, but i think i have everything i need in my head now as far as hooking it up. It worked great last time, just wasn't fully rigged properly. Had to fix the exhaust on my jeep so that took most of the time lately. But we're good to go now, so im hoping to have it done and brewing again next week.

Crut, are you my brotha from anotha motha? I didn't brew today, because I blew the gasket between my headers and the catalytic converter on my truck, and I had to fix it. Talk about busting nut or two(alright, technically I busted bolts, but I couldn't resist. I had to use what I affectionately call "The Persuader" - a 2" X 3' stainless pipe I keep around for such purposes. I'm brewing tomorrow, though. All that shit I was talking about my stir plate? Well, I guess the stir plate gods were smiling down on me. I swirled the 2L starter, slapped it on the plate and dialed it in on the first try. BAM. Charlie P's yeast are spinning as I type this, and have been for 24 hrs. I'm trying out some new toys tomorrow, so I am stoked. Man, I love this hobby/lifestyle.
