Teflon tape is typically only used to seal threads. You wrap it around the threads before your screw them together (i said screw). If you are trying to seal a tube going thru a hole, a stopper would be your best bet. Even better would be a bulkhead (weldless) fitting that would give you threads on the inside to connect to your manifold. Here are some weldless fittings
If you are crafty, you can make your own weldless fitting with a nipple, washers, orings, and a valve.

Yeah I know, but as such Teflon Tape is lowsy as a seal thread, if you ask me. One bad move and you have to replace it all and start over, but this stuff i food graded up till 250 degrees C and its the food grading Im going for. I would hate if I brewed beer there was filled with all kinds of chemicals there isn't suppose to be there.

You can get 100% silicon food grade sealant. It comes in a tube and is ok for the inside of a mash tun. I picked up a tube at the home improvement store and sealed a leak in my tun with it.

Hmmm... Well we dont have that brand in Denmark I'm affraid. But it is something like that I'm looking for! I've been scouting the market for that kind but either they don't stick on plastic or they don't stick on cobber or some other dumb thing is wrong with the ones I can get my hands on. Its not easy when you want food graded special products

You could get a stopper and slide the tubing through the stopper ala Denny Conn.



Then find some food grade silicon to seal it.
