I agree with you about the beer. However, I lived out there for 5 or 6 years (in Tualatin) and wouldn't move back there for anything. The weather SUCKS, the school system is awful (the main reason we went back to Nebraska), the cost of living rediculus, and crime is rampant. On the other hand, the beer was wonderful and the scenery (when it wasn't foggy or raining) was beautiful. I did have the chance to walk through some hop fields near Wilsonville once and for a short time I thought I was in heaven.

Wow Travis, you are right, there isn't any place around your burb that serves any kind of good beer. I searched and couldn't locate any place that sounded like a good brew pub or had anything on tap.... you poor bastard. You better keep making your own beer so when you do move to a real town you'll know what beer is suppose to tast like

Hey BugEater, maybe it's our frame of reference. I moved up from So Cal about 9 years ago and although I go back to visit famiy I wouldn't live there again. It's a great place to be young and single but with a family, I wanted similar things that you did; good schools safe neighborhoods, etc. I have never lived in the midwest but traveled there many times. The poeple are great as long as you stay out of the big cities (IMHO). I think I'm tied to the low humidity of the west coast though.
