New Eqipment Purchase-Narrowing Things Down

Sun Jan 14, 2007 1:23 pm

I am getting closer to deciding upon my system upgrade. Before I do I want to compare the Brew Magic Pro Brewer system to MoreBeer's B3 2100. What would I need to add in terms of options on the B3 2100 to achieve an apples to apples comparison to the Brew Magic Pro Brewer?

Does anyone have any experience with these two systems? What I really need is feedback on a side by side comparison. Barring that I would like to know is what would be needed in terms of add on options for the 2100 to have it compare to Sabco's Pro Brewer (their entry level rig) Brew Magic system. This system looks like it has more options included, whereas with the MoreBeer systems you must literally add them on. To compare favorably what extras would I have to purchase to bring the 2100 up to te level of the Brew Magic system? Even if you don't have actual experience just looking at the two systems what upgrades would I need to buy for the 2100 in order to compare it apples to apples with the Sabco?

Man, I wish I was trying to make this decision. The big question I have to answer is wether I should use an igloo or rubbermaid cooler for a mash tun.

Island,
In my club 2 guys jointly own the Sabco entry level system, while another has brewed on the B3 equipment while at one of the brewing institutes (took the week long class out in Durango, etc...can't remember it right now).

If you'd like, I can put you in touch with them to compare notes. I'm sure they'd be happy to discuss the systems.

(And the club has yet to use the Sabco...those guys just got it, 2 more batches they say to iron out all the hiccups and they'll have the club over for a play date with the system...all 10 of us regular members! :p)

Cheers
