Greeting from the Buckeye State

Sun Dec 29, 2013 4:20 am

Hi BN forum, my name's Dave, in this forum I am buckeyebrewer in TastyBrew and BF I am OSUBrewer.

I have been brewing for over 12 years, I do about 10 or more batches of all grain per year. My recipe formulations are generally from scratch -- my favorites and best recipes are APA, Oatmeal Stout, Cream Ale, and Summer Lager -- heck who am I kidding I love all beer and my selection is mood dependent or random, its all good!

As an engineer and IT guy by trade I am naturally a geek and have approached brewing the same way. For years my Christmas has been a very Beery Christmas as my presents have been pH meters, refractometers, etc. I hope everyone had a great holiday season, I wish you all the best.

My present quest is greater understanding of pH throughout the entire cycle of the brewing process from start to finish and its effect on flavor, stability, and clarity so I am looking forward to jumping in these conversations.

Welcome! Go Bucks! What part of the Buckeye State are you in? I'm in the Northeastern part, originally from the Northwestern part.

Always glad to meet a fellow Ohioan in the Beer Stratosphere. I'm from South of Canton Personally. I Say we hijack buckeyebrewer's thread to an Ohio Shoutout!

Thanks for the welcome. I grew up in Columbus about 8 miles from the stadium. Moved to Dayton OH after going to OSU for undergrad and celebrating game day with 3.2% beer back in the day... Made my first trip overseas in 1987 to UK and Germany and realized beer was more than yellow fizzy stuff.

OH!
