Nice. Maybe when I finally get my dipole up (just bought a house & have no idea where I'm going to put the thing - they put the power lines to my neighbor in just the wrong spot) I can catch you on the air sometime. I'm much more into brewing & woodworking, but radio's fun from time to time.

P.S. BD, you suck!

Yeah tha'ts the same problem I have at my house! I have 2 service lines and a power pole at the back of my lot, and both of my neighbors service drop runs through my back yard. I have my fan dipole taken down atm, but I play with 11 meters and tune 10 through 20 meters with my 5/8 wave vertical antenna. Glad to hear Beer and radios go hand in hand!!! :-) Like you said, maybe we can coordinate and catch each other on the air sometime! I also got into medal detecting, and recently thought about beer brewing. So now this is my 3rd hobby, and my ole lady is not to happy, but at least she can enjoy this one with me!!! :-) :pop

Everyone should read Papazian's book...if nothing but to pay tribute to the godfather.

John Palmer's book is great, although so much has happened since it was written ( I believe he's thinking of updating it).

Does the homebrew shop do classes? My LHBS conducts beginner classes and give a discount on kits the night of the class. You can also find a local homebrew club (most are very welcoming of new hobbists and they are a wealth of knowledge).

Search this forum and asks questions...

Yes they give classes! I am fortunate that I have 2 decent homebrew shops in town, and they both have nice websites. One of them is going to open a second store here in North OKC. There are also several local clubs, but I am one to do research on my own, and ask questions around here before I join a club! that way i know what the hell I am talking about 8)

I do plan to get John Palmer's book soon. I keep seeing that it's an awesome read!

Thanks again!!
