Newbie from Atlanta

Wed Jun 26, 2013 8:23 pm

Hi All, Newbie to the forum and newbie brewer, too. I've got about 3 months and 6 brews behind me so far. I found this forum via mentions on the podcast and figured I'd check it out.

My favorite styles are stouts, porters and most Belgians. Besides beer I like whiskey, cigars, hiking and cooking. My dirty little secret is that I love a cold Genny Cream Ale on a hot day... don't hate.

Bottled: fresh hop pale ale
On tap: Moose bile strong ale
In the cellar: Taqu'il's Fat Black Imperial Stout
Lagering:
In the fermenter: Moose drool clone
In the works: Taqu'il's Fat Black Imperial stout

Thanks!

I've got a half-assed 3-tier system with a rectangular cooler MLT and a fly sparge head with a 7 gallon turkey fryer for my boil pot. I've been brewing 4 gallon batches as I had some 4 gallon food grade buckets that I turned into fermenters, going to upgrade those very soon. I'm bottling now and am already sick of washing bottles so a kegging system will be in the not too distant future.

99% of the time I brew with my buddy Brian and we've dubbed ourselves The Mostly Harmless Brewing Co. So far we've brewed an ESB, oatmeal stout (extract), oatmeal stout (AG), Maris Otter/EKG SMaSH, Skeeter Pee and a Spruce Pale Ale.

My setup...

very cool. You already have a better brewing setup than I do. I do the turkey fryer and biab. I get great results, and have a kid on the way so I dont see myself upgrading anytime soon. :jnj
