Haier keezer adjustment

Tue Jun 04, 2013 12:34 pm

So I know a lot of these freezers have been converted into a keeper before, hell even one of the revies on hhgregg is about it being a keezer. I have a haier 7.1cuft freezer model HCM071AW. I'm using a Johnson controller at the moment to have it stay around 40F. I know I've seen/heard some people were able to adjust their internal thermostat to have it stay at 40f without the controler.

A) has anyone ever done this, the thermostat on the freezer is MFR #RF-7350-123 and has a small screw on the bottom.

Or

B) the thermostat is MFR #RF-7350-123 (used in multiple haier freezers) has anyone adjust this thermostat before?

Thanks and see everyone at NHC

In case you haven't figured out a solution yet- Trying to recalibrate freezer thermostats is a complete waste of time, and is very imprecise. If you have more time than money, and care very little about what your beer temp (or carb level) is, then proceed with endless fidgeting of the screw. Otherwise, spend $18 on and STC-1000 controller off amazon, and at most $10 to wire/box it up. Most people have enough stuff in the parts bin to build it up from scrap parts.

After you see how well it works, you can sell your Johnson for $50 to some sap, and buy 2-3 more STC-1000s. Unless you have one of those junky analog ones, which should be pitched in the nearest trash can.
