I own several of these controllers. Easy read digital display, fairly simple wiring. decent value. Get 'em on sale at NHC.

FWIW, Pex Supply has the Johnsons cheaper than most places. I got mine there for $58 - http://www.pexsupply.com/Johnson-Contro ... -240v-SPDT
The STC-1000s can be had on ebay for $10 if you hunt and watch for a while. I got both mine for $10 w/free shipping from China.

Both are equally simple to wire up. Provide power then hook fridge up to the correct terminals (instructions are perfectly clear for both). The STCs control heat and cool, just like the Johnsons. The only down side to the STC is the °C display, but that is easily overcome with a little simple math.
I'm sick of chasing my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're going and hook up with them later.

This is exactly what I just put on my fermentation chamber, has been running flawlessly for about 3 weeks now......and it has a 115V A/C window unit that it is controlling.

Those look nice, and dual stage is a bonus, but I thought we were going for cheap :) Amazon's showing them listing at $119, on sale for $75. Plenty of cheaper options out there.

They are cheap if you catch them on sale at NHC. The manufacturer dudes that sell them usually had a sponsor booth last year. I'll post their information right after NHC Philly if they have another sale. They will honor NHC pricing if you get an order to the guy within a week of NHC.

Or we just put your name and email address on their signup form and they'll contact you.

Yeah, I was just going by these 2 things, reading 'cheap' & 'soon'. :)

If I was going the chamber route, I'd definitely be looking at those, but I decided to put the B3 controlled conicals on my upgrade list instead of going with the conical in a fridge route. Space mostly, but the coolness factor does play a little part. Way down the list I'm putting LOVE controllers on the kegerator & carb fridge. That's almost completely coolness factor though. :) Right now the list starts with a tie between rebuilding my stand since it's designed for my old system which was half the size & has taken a beating over the years & upgrading the HLT so I can go back to HERMS & get rid of this RIMS nonsense. A pair of the conicals is directly after.

Thank you in advance.
I have several of these. You will need to do a little wiring to add a electrical cord w/ plug and a switched outlet, buy some sort of box to put it in. Lots of forum discussions about this controller.

Some forum threads call it the ebay aquarium temp controller.
Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one, some are kinda shitty
