Congratulations! Usually the email you get that says you passed includes your score.

I sent a email to judging coordinator to get a status and said it's done being graded and that I passed and the exam administrator will send out the scores.

Congratulations & Welcome to the BJCP!

Be sure to also check your spam folder for a message from Susan Ruud:
meadmkr AT far DOT midco DOT net

(obviously, replace the AT with "@" and DOT with ".")

Her email address is a little out of the ordinary so email from her sometimes ends up in
people's spam folder.

If the email was just the initial "Welcome to the BJCP" email, that is different from passing the exam, isn't it B'Dawg?

I got that email and my scores/new judge packet followed a month/month and a half later.

Correct me if I am wrong, but even Apprentice judges that don't pass get that email. I'm not trying to piss on a parade here, I'd like clarification for the future for our next club administered exam, so I can relay valid info.
I'm sick of chasing my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're going and hook up with them later.

You are correct that email is different. Anyone that takes the exam gets a welcome to the BJCP email with your BJCP ID on it. From what I can tell (and I'm probably wrong), it seems like after the first grader finishes the info is passed on and that is when the email is generated. Then it goes onto another grader or maybe the administrator for review.

After I judge this weekend I'll have enough points to be national and then I'll start getting into helping grade exams.

What sharkguy05 is saying is that he emailed the judging coordinator and they confirmed that grading was completed and he passed. Now it just takes a bit of time before the data gets passed along and entered into the system.

Everyone needs to remember that everyone is a volunteer and things don't always go as quick as you would like. My first exam took almost 10 or 11 months to get results back, but something slipped through the cracks there.

Actually, this is the first time I've heard of one of the exam directors/assistant directors leaking to an examinee that he/she passed before the official email. (Not saying it didn't happen, this is just the first time I heard about it).

I'll ask Susan about the mechanics of the generation of the first "Here's your BJCP id" email (which is different from the "you passed" email). I believe it is different now than it used to be before the exam change. It used to be that everyone gets that email (and a BJCP id) regardless of whether they pass or not. That might not be the case any more. Like I said, I'll find out and let you guys know.

Congrats, Bokonon, on your hitting National this weekend. Note that it takes a while for the points to hit. (I sat in limbo for ~3 months waiting for the last of my GMSR points to hit before they were recorded and I officially made GM).
