How many minutes do you leave it at that temp (in 'merican, please )? Do you pre-heat or put the chiller in right away & allow it to come to temp? And how do you let it cool (in the oven, cooling rack, etc.)?

I'm still using my mega-immersion chiller, but there's a Therminator not too far in my future.

I put it in cold and let it come up to temp with the oven. Normally I put it on at the start of mash, and then turn off the oven at end of mash, then take it out of the oven after an hour.

So bottom line, about an hour from cold should be fine... so in Oz about 1/336 of a fortnight, in US units, about 1/336 of two weeks. ;-)

 Excellent stuff, thank you. Sorry, I don't know how to translate that into Australian, but I'll give it a try. Fuck off you fat wanker. Close? Sorry my Australian is limited to what I've learned from Pies mumblings on air.

I wasn't trying for any specific regional dialect.
