This one is shaping up for a brew next weekend. Planning to pitch at basement temp of ~ 65F and letting yeast run wild and do whatever it pleases...I think WLP 530 likes it hot.

Cheers fellow soldiers.

I'm with you on that too. I think I'll blend some Palisades with my Citra for this, since I'm out of Motueka. Tropical citrus / passion fruit basket.

Brewed it last weekend. I'll post the recipe. It's now split between a BetterBottle and an open bucket in my basement with both showing a steady 66F on the outside thermometer. Planning to drop a thermowell into the BetterBottle for grins. I'll also post the pic of the open ferment, it's currently oozing over the sides. Cool.

Wow, nice! I found some Rakau hops in my freezer that I forgot I had ordered and think I'll use them for this Bel. IPA.

Tasted both lat night. Gravities are 1.010 and they both are a little catty. I've never experienced that with Citra or WLP530 but I do not remember tasting any of those beers right at 2-weeks. I am racking to fresh secondaries tomorrow morning and going to dry-hop with Amarillo & Citra and then wash the yeast to repitch into a Tripel I will brew tomorrow. Hopefully the Pale Ale drops some of the catty and the tropical comes through. I'd post the recipe, but cannot figure out how to get it in a format from BeerSmith to put here.

Just brewed my all Citra IPA on Sat. .25 oz of warrior FWH, then 6 boil additions of Citra, 30 min till FO. 90 IBU's. 2 oz Citra will dry hop. Fresh 1272 starter. Bubbling away. Also used my march pump with Brewmometer on output for the first time on my whirlpool chiller I rigged up. All went great except I burned one of my silicone hoses in half! Smart to have a spare, I was. Next up: Belgian IPA.

3-days later catty odor/flavor seemed to die down. Racked and hit with 30 grams Amarillo & 15 grams of Citra in each 5.5 gallon batch. Washed the yeast and pitched into a Tripel I brewed on Sunday.

It's almost carbonated...it's good. Just a touch of cat which is new for me from Citra, but its not objectionable. Back to my Zombie Dust.

Just kegged my all Citra IPA yesterday. Tasted awesome from hydro tube. Lots of pinapple/grapefruit just touch of catty. I like!
